  • Arrival 8:30 AM - 9 AM
  • Pick Up 3:30 PM - 4 PM

Jr. Young Creators* (5 years old, unless otherwise noted)

  • Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM
  • Arrival 8:30 AM - 9 AM
  • Pick Up 12:15 PM - 12:45 PM

AVE + EO MVMNT's Young Creators Camp offers a week of exploration through play, movement and visual storytelling while promoting physical activity and healthy relationships to ourselves and others through social and cultural context. Activities include dance, acrobatics, capoeira, writing, partnering, intro to circus arts, photography, art and design, field trips (beach, parks, neighborhood adventures, etc). The camp will allow kids to explore themselves and their community while participating in collaborative games, team building activities and artistic endeavors. Young Creators Camp is for the child in all of us who loves to explore, express, and try a little bit of everything. Only 6 spaces available for Jr. Young Creators, 24 spaces available for Young Creators.

Tuition: $385/session

  • $20 discount for each additional sibling
  • $10 off tuition if you bring a friend, for you and your friend
  • Tuition is non-refundable.
  • Please pack your child a lunch. Only snack will be provided.

Jarrel Phillips

Mentor + Capoeira Instructor + Visual Storyteller + Teacher
Jarrel Phillips is a SF native and world traveler. He begin his youth work at 14 years old and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Child and Adolescent Development: Youth and Family Services from San Francisco State University. In his 17+ years of experience, he has served a vast community of youth from a wide-range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds throughout the SF Bay Area. In doing so, he’s been a counselor, teacher, coach, Capoeira (martial arts) instructor and mentor. As an artist Phillips uses film, photography, writing, and movement as mediums for sharing, connecting and documenting our stories. His work emphasizes cultural and folkloric arts and oral storytelling, especially within the African diaspora. Phillips believes our individual and collective stories can build bridges across cultures and communities, and spark dialogue that inspires personal and collective growth and transformation.

Christine Joy Ferrer (AKA Tine)

Cultural Movement Arts Educator + Visual Storyteller + Designer
Christine Joy Ferrer (a.k.a. Tine) is a cultural movement and arts educator; an eclectic soul inspired by Afro-diasporic/folkloric rhythms, dedicated to youth and community. She explores her relationship and connection to our local cultural arts communities not only as a dancer and educator, but also as writer, designer and editor. Brought up in San Francisco's Ingleside district, she is a San Francisco State University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts dual degree in journalism and dance. For the last seven years she has taught preschool gymnastic/dance at AcroSports. She's studied Haitian folkloric, Afro-Brazilian Contemporary, Afro-Cuban, acrobatics, jazz, modern, Latin American Social Folk, Dunham Technique, Philippine folk and more. She is a member of Parangal Dance Company. Tine is the arts/culture and design editor for Reimagine's Race, Poverty & the Environment journal and founder of Eyes Opened MVMNT, Media + Design
